Powerful Alternative or Great Addition to LED Up Lighting - Wedding/Event Color Wash Lighting
04/10/2014, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Our sound and lighting website now has a new page that specifically describes color wash lighting, which is another important tool that can greatly enhance the look of a reception hall or an outdoor patio area. Unlike ambient LED up lighting, color wash lighting is more functional, because the lights are mounted on tripod stands, which allows the light to come from the top and cover a larger surface area. Some of the most beautiful wedding lighting pictures available online look so great because, in addition to LED up lights, color wash lighting was used. Click here to learn more.
Sweet 16 Birthday Party at Bernardo Heights County Club in San Diego, CA
03/12/2014, DJ Charlie Walkrich: I’ve had the pleasure to work at many different weddings and events during the last couple of months, but one of the most memorable ones was the Sweet 16 party that took place at a beautiful San Diego event venue called “Bernardo Heights Country Club”. The room was very nicely decorated, not too big and not too small. Since it was my third time working there, I was given a little bit of extra setup time, which allowed me to come up with some new lighting ideas and make sure everything looked great. The client’s family sent me a big list of Gangsta Rap, Hardcore Hip Hop and some Country music. I don’t get to play Gangsta Rap very often and I didn’t have some of the songs they requested. So I downloaded everything in clean versions, listened to all the songs, set the BPMs and was ready to spin it. On the day of the event, I was impressed to see how popular Rap and Hip Hop music still is, especially among teenagers. Parents asked me to skip the Country and actual Dance music, and play Hip Hop only. I followed their directions and everybody seemed to have a great time. I was even asked to do overtime and received a tip in the end. Not being a fan of this type of music, I feel a bit proud of myself :)
Happy Saint Valentine’s Day
02/14/2014, DJ Charlie Walkrich: We sincerely would like to congratulate everyone with this wonderful day and wish you happiness, harmony, good health, success and love. I actually got married on February 14th and today I and my wife are going to celebrate our 2nd anniversary :)

Last Weekend’s Events: 12/06/2013 & 12/07/2013
12/11/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: This was one of the busiest weekends of my work life. I had booked so many events that I had to rent additional lighting fixtures from my business friends. Over the past weekend, we did five lighting rentals, three holiday DJ jobs and one corporate videography job. Even though I had to do a lot of planning before the weekend and stay up most of the nights, I and my assistants really enjoyed it. Of course, it would be nice if we could spread those jobs over 7 days a week but, for obvious reasons, most people tend to have parties on Fridays and Saturdays only, so we had to work very hard those days… I heard it’s actually good for you.
September, October and November 2013 Events
12/04/2013, DJ Charlie Walrkch: Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to post anything on any of the recent events I’ve worked at. The reason why is because there have been so many of them that I barely had enough time to prepare for each day. Over the last three months, we’ve done about thirty weddings, corporate events and birthday parties in San Diego, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino. The new equipment we purchased in August and September was actually very helpful, and we’ve been using it a lot. Most clients and their guests were extremely happy with our services and had a great time at their special events. Thank you all for having me and I look forward to working with you again in the future!

I just published my new article "How to Save Money on a Wedding DJ" and you may click here if you'd like to check it out. Have a great holiday weekend!

11/06/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Finally, after months of shooting and editing, we now have our lighting decor demo video that walks you through all available wedding and event lighting rental options and pricing. You may click here if you'd like to check it out. We recommend watching the whole video through so that you can learn about all types of lighting we offer and choose the one that's right for you.
New DJ Equipment, Sound Gear & Lighting Truss
09/30/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: During the last couple of months, we have purchased four brand new speakers, speaker stands, one 24-channel sound mixer, three microphones, twelve new lighting fixtures, huge lighting truss, a bunch of cables, adapters and other state-of-the-art equipment, which now makes it easier for us to handle more than five weddings/events every Saturday. Also, having purchased a big lighting truss, we can now provide higher end stage lighting effects for bands and multiple performers at larger venues. Pictures of this work are coming up very soon!
Popular Types of Wedding & Event Lighting: Gobo, Pin Spot, Dance Floor, Stage & LED UpLights
09/24/2013, DJ Charlie Walkich: I just finished working on my new article where I talk about different popular types of wedding lighting, how much impression you can get and how much money it would cost. If you’re unsure what kind of lighting you need and how to wisely spend the money you’ve saved up for your décor, this is definitely for you! It’s published on my blog and you may check it out.
New Wedding and Event Up Lighting Décor Options
09/17/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: When it comes to up lighting, most of our clients usually ask for just one color and ocean blue is probably the most popular one. However, our LED lighting fixtures offer a wide variety of different colors and effects that can be changed with one click of a button. Over the past several months, we’ve been educating our clients and two or even three colors were often used for up lighting in one room: ocean blue and green, pink and green, amber and red, purple, blue and pink, etc. We’ve also done a lot of weddings where all fixtures were set on one or two colors during cocktail/dinner and then changed to a sound activated mode for the dancing part. Another one of my favorite effects is when the lights slowly fade through different colors all the same time, which constantly changes the appearance of the room and allows everyone to enjoy their favorite color without the “Rainbow” effect that’s often undesired at wedding receptions. If you’d like to check out some of the pictures taken at those events, please click here to view our frequently updated photo gallery.
August 22nd Wedding at the Coronado Community Center and Other Events this Month
08/27/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: I really enjoyed working at the Coronado Community Center again! It’s a very beautiful, clean and fairly large space right next the water with the view of San Diego. It not too expensive and they make it easy for wedding vendors, which allows us to set everything up with no rush in the best possible way and do a better job in a stress-free environment. If you’re looking for a wedding venue, I definitely recommend checking out the Coronado Community Center. Just make sure you do it in advance as they have a very busy schedule and this couple decided to have their wedding on Thursday because they had already been booked for most Saturdays in 2013-2014. I provided a cocktail pianist, a dinner jazz trio, indoor & outdoor up lighting, dance floor/stage lighting and I was the DJ for the rest of the night. Pictures and videos should be coming up shortly and the new gallery will also include many other weddings and events we did this month. In fact, we managed to do 5 gigs just this last Saturday and it looks like we are prepared to do even more in one day!
August 10th Wedding Ceremony & Reception at the San Diego Museum of Art
08/14/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: San Diego wedding DJs and other vendors that have worked at the above location know that it's not an easy one: public area, no parking, limited unload time, bad acoustics, strict rules, liability requirements, limited space, etc. Therefore, I believe that it is quite an achievement to handle a successful wedding at this place! :) For people who are considering the San Diego Museum of Art as their wedding venue, I'd probably recommend to make sure all of their guests and vendors would feel comfortable there. It's a very beautiful and unique space but it's more of a public museum rather than a wedding ceremony and reception venue, in my personal opinion. It was both a pleasure and a challenge to work there but I'm still extraordinary grateful for this experience!
July 2013 Weddings & Many More Coming Up!
07/09/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: It's been a few weeks since my last post. The reason why is because I spent most of my time preparing for each wedding and, during the last week, I had five of them: wedding DJ, MC & lighting services at the El Camino Country Club in Oceanside, wedding DJ, MC & lighting services at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay in San Diego, wedding videography on a private boat in Marina Del Rey (Los Angeles area), wedding sound system rental at the Rancho Guajome Adobe in Vista and wedding up lighting, under lighting and stage lighting rental at the King's Garden Restaurant in San Diego. I'm very grateful for all this work, and pictures and videos will be posted soon. I'm also planning to produce a video for potential clients where I'll be talking about different lighting options, different colors, effects and help them choose what they like. There is so much much work that I almost don't know where to start! :)
Wedding Ceremony and Reception at the Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club
06/09/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Click here to check out the video trailer for last weekend’s wedding that took place at the Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club in San Diego, CA. It was my first time working at this venue and I really liked it. For some reason, it just felt easy to work there as everything was very clean, beautiful and simple. I provided a sound system rental, lighting rental and videography. It was one of the craziest weddings I’ve seen in my entire career. Even though they didn’t hire a professional San Diego wedding DJ, those people had so much fun that I started to feel jealous that I wasn’t one of the guests... It made me realize that it’s not always about the music and the DJ as much as it is about the crowd, their background, interests, character and energy.
New Service: Affordable San Diego Wedding & Event Videography
05/30/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Are you having a wedding, live concert or any other type of show that needs to be recorded on video? We just started providing simple, affordable and quality videography. Using one camera with a monopod, we will film the whole ceremony and all key events during your reception. It's not the same videography you would get for $2000, but it's a decent quality video that you can watch with your family and friends years from now. The price is $250 for raw video footage or $350 for all the footage + an edited movie. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you might have and/or schedule a free consultation in our Fashion Valley office. You may also click here to watch one of our sample videos.
California Wedding Divas Bridal Show at the Courtyard Marriott Liberty Station
05/20/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Thank you everyone for visiting us at the bridal show last weekend! This was the first time I participated in this particular show and I was surprised when I saw how much free food, drinks and other giveaways were available to all the attendees. The admission was also free and this show was way more interesting than most other bridal events I’ve seen. As a result of the show, these days I’m in the process of booking several San Diego weddings that will take place in 2013-2014. Once again, a big thank you to all the organizers, attendees and wedding vendors for making this happen!
2013 Summer Dance, New Disco & Modern Rock Music Mix
05/08/2013: DJ Charlie Walkrich: Have you ever heard someone mix Modern Hard Rock with Dance Pop? Just finished working on my new experimental music mix that features a compilation of songs in entirely different music genres, including New Disco, Dance, Alternative & Modern Rock. It’s almost twice as long as the longest mix I had produced before! It should take you through different emotions while introducing you to some nice and fresh songs in different genres. You may click here to check it out.
Russian Birthday Party at the Premier Restaurant in La Mesa, CA
05/06/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Last Friday I was the DJ at an awesome 30th birthday party at the San Diego’s finest Eastern European restaurant “Premier”. The place is located in La Mesa and it was my third time working there. There were just below 50 people in total attendance but they partied like hundreds of Eastern European party animals. The restaurant’s owners and staff are very nice, friendly and honest people. Anyone who’s interested in Eastern European food, this is a great place to have a delicious meal at. Their address is 6062 Lake Murray Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91942. The phone number is (619) 768-3325. Make sure to call them first. Sometimes they’re closed after partying too much! :)
Charlie Walkrich – Let’s Have a Party (Radio Edit)
04/24/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Just released a music video for my latest song “Let’s Have a Party”. Even though it has nothing to do with my mobile DJ & lighting business, I thought it would be fun for some of you to watch something that was filmed in San Diego by someone who you might hire to DJ your event. The video also includes some footage taken at the San Diego weddings and parties I've worked at. You many click here to watch the video. I hope you’ll enjoy it!
Bridal Bazaar & Footage from the Latest Wedding
04/16/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: As I mentioned in my previous post, I finally managed to get some fresh & decent footage of my work. This client booked my full service “Red Diamond Package”, which includes DJ, MC, live entertainment & lighting. You may click here to watch the video. To everyone who is interested, Bridal Bazaar is coming up this Sunday and I’d like to invite everyone to visit my booth #907. April 6th Wedding Ceremony & Reception in Ramona, CA
04/08/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Last Saturday I worked at a big wedding at a private residence in Ramona. There were 250 guests and I provided almost all the services I offer – ceremony pianist, cocktail music, dinner live jazz trio, dancing music, MCing, up lighting, dance floor lighting, onsite coordination and more. I got there at 10am and left after 11pm. I also spent many hours planning this event and it’s a perfect example of how much time it takes to provide quality entertainment services and why it costs money. I hired a professional videographer to get some footage, so some super nice video should be coming up soon!
Live Jazz Show at the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club
03/06/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Last Saturday I provided up lighting and stage lighting at the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club, which is a very beautiful San Diego wedding and event venue. This was a fundraising concert of Jazz music and I was very excited to be a part of it! There are so many talented musicians who are not in demand because of the DJ business and the change in many people’s entertainment preferences. But I will always love quality live music more than anything else! Click here to view some of the video footage from the event.
The Best of Dubstep & Electro House 2013 Mix (on Fire!)
02/08/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Just released my new music mix that features fresh & quality non-mainstream Dubstep & Electro House music by Porter Robinson, Skrillex, Krewella & Knife Party. This music is hardly ever played on most radio stations and I feel it deserves more attention. Please click here to listen to the mix.
Evening of Jazz at the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club

January 4th Wedding Reception at a Private House in San Diego
01/07/2013, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Have you ever thought of getting married at a new large house you just purchased? That’s what one of my clients did last week. There were over 100 guests and there was still space available for dancing! This is one of the most interesting wedding receptions I’ve seen and when I was there I felt as if I were DJing in a castle back in 1513. The décor was amazing as well as the view of the ocean. All the guests seemed to be happy and dancing and I can’t stress enough how grateful and happy I am for having the opportunity to work at this location.

'80s Club and '80s Freestyle Music Mix
12/12/2012, DJ Charlie
Walkrich: Just published another brand new mix that features original versions of popular Freestyle songs from the mid '80s. Since this music is very unpopular now, I thought it would be a good idea to record this mix for people who'd like to recall it. Click on the following link to listen to the San Diego Party DJ '80s Club and '80s Freestyle Music Mix.
2012 & 2013 Winter Dance, Electro House & Dubstep Mix

Walkrich: Just finished working on the new mix, which features Electro House &
Dubstep remixes, as well as o
riginal versions of new popular dance songs. As always, the vocals are edited to illuminate profanity. Click on the following link to listen to the San Diego DJ Winter Dance Mix.
Playing at the San Diego LA Fitness Sports Club in Clairemont
10/24/2012, DJ Charlie Walkirch: Recently I was hired to play at the grand opening (after remodeling) of one of the local LA Fitness Spots Clubs located in Clairemont. The gig was so much fun as most people were very surprised when they saw a DJ spinning music in the middle of the gym. If you’d like work out or use a swimming pool, I would definitely suggest considering getting a membership at your local LA Fitness Sports Club. The gym was very big and clean with lots of brand new equipment and great people inside! Please click here to watch the video taken that day.
How Much Does a DJ Cost? - DJ Hiring Tips & Questions to Ask a DJ.
10/18/2012, DJ Charlie Walkirch: A few weeks ago, I posted an article with some general information on choosing and hiring a mobile DJ. This time, I decided to make a few changes and record a video for people who shop around for DJs and need some advice. Please click here to watch it.
Now you can chat with us online…any time
10/16/2012, DJ Charlie Walkirch: Being a mobile DJ, I try to keep up with technology while looking for more ways to improve my customer service. Now it will be even easier for some of you to reach me and go through the booking process with the new feature I just added on my site: online chat. A new visitor or a current client can ask a quick question or request a song and get an immediate response most of the time. Look for a chat window on the right-bottom corner of each page and feel free to ask any questions or leave your feedback.
Footage from 18th Birthday Party at a private house in San Diego
10/14/2012, DJ Charlie Walkrich: I finally finished working on some great footage from a recent birthday party I played at. I was asked to spin current Dance, Hip-Hop, Electro House and Dubstep music, which I don't get to play much at weddings. I was also able to use my fog machine, which looked beautiful with all the lights and definitely enhanced the overall atmosphere. It was also nice to see the parents dance along with their kids and the party was so fun that I even thought of joining everyone on the dancefloor! :) Please click here to watch the video.
Gangnam Style by PSY at a Private Party in San Diego
10/07/2012, DJ Charlie Walkrich: As of this moment, this song has 400,273,842 views on YouTube and the number keeps growing rapidly. I played it at all the parties I did recently and it's difficult for me to think of a song that worked as well as this one. Please click here to see what happens when you play it. The footage is from last night!
Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Marina Village
09/26/2012, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Last Saturday I did another wedding at Marina Village, which is a beautiful but inexpensive venue located next to Quivira Basin in Mission Bay, San Diego. I like to DJ at this place because they don't have a lot of sound restrictions like some venues in La Jolla and there is a beautiful waterfront view. As always, I got to play all different kinds of music to make sure all the age groups were satisfied. It seems like the Korean Electro House single "Gangnam Style" by PSY is becoming really big in the United States, at least in San Diego. I had a few people asking for it and when I finally played it, all the people went nuts!
San Diego Wedding DJ Fall 2012 Bridal Blast Dance Music Mix
09/15/2012, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Just finished working on my brand new music mix that features fresh top 40 dance hits in original versions and remixes. Perfect for lovers of Commercial House, Dance and Pop music. The mix is suggested for weddings to keep the dance floor filled with younger crowd closer to the end of the night. All the songs are edited to eliminate profanity. Click here to listen & download.
Advertising at Kobey’s Swap Meet
09/09/2012, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Have you ever thought of selling or advertising at a local swap meet? That’s what I did today with my DJ business. I and my team participated in today’s Kobey’s Swap Meet at the San Diego Sports Arena. We passed out almost 700 promotional flyers and generated a few leads. It is still unclear what kind of profit should be expected and whether the expenses will be covered completely. Nevertheless, overall, it seemed like a great investment and a great experience. You can click here to check out the video on how it was all done.
Latin Wedding Anniversary Party in Los Angeles
08/29/2012, DJ Charlie Walkrich: On August 18th I was honored to work at another Latin event. Having no Hispanic background, just a few years ago I didn't know much about Latin music. But after I married a woman from El Salvador, everything has changed. Now I feel totally comfortable playing, mixing and even beat-matching Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue, etc. Even though this time it wasn't a wedding, it was still crucial for me to spend some extra time working on the music and lighting to make sure the event was 100% successful. Please click here to watch the video on how it was all done.
Grand Opening of the Russian-American Restaurant "Premier" in San Diego
08/28/2012, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Last Saturday I was hired to play at the grand opening of the new local Russian-American Restaurant "Premier" located in La Mesa. Unfortunately, I was working and couldn't try the food, but people seemed to be very satisfied. They also opened a Russian supermarket right next to the restaurant. The address of the place is 6062 Lake Murray Blvd #102-106, La Mesa, CA. Click here for the video.
August 2012 DJ Hiring Tip from DJ Charlie Walkrich
DJ Hiring Tip #1
How much should you spend on hiring a DJ? How can you make sure he is the right one? Hiring salesmen vs. hiring DJs. How to avoid paying thousands of dollars yet getting the value of a Craigslist DJ? What are the average DJ rates?
Are you looking for a professional salesman or a professional DJ? First of all, it’s very important to understand the difference between the two. Most DJ companies get a lot of business because they are strong in sales. The people who run these companies tell their clients, very professionally, exactly what they want to hear, and the clients often choose and book their wedding DJ even before meeting him. These big DJ companies usually charge their clients thousands of dollars and pay their DJs about 10 percent of what they make, which is between $100 and $300 per event. The client often ends up paying too much for a low-budget DJ, poor equipment, and bad customer service.
The equipment some of these companies use is often very old and unreliable. Oftentimes, companies will show off their gigantic speakers and amplifiers in order to impress their client. However, modern technology no longer requires large surface area. Two modern speakers can now do the job of four outdated ones. In the meantime, they would take up far less space and look a lot nicer. Therefore, while some people believe that the bigger the speakers and amplifiers are, the better the sound would be, they often end up with a cheap and plastic sound that cuts the ears.
Furthermore, many of those so called DJs don’t even know how to beat match music, or simply adjust the sound and microphone levels and frequencies, not to mention other possible surprises, such as unsuitable attire, wrongs playlist, songs with profanity, poor announcements, etc. You would often be impressed with their nice office and professional booking approach, but in the end you might end up paying a lot of money and getting the equivalent of a Craigslist DJ. Even if you still decide to go with a big company, make sure you review the contact and, before you sign it, meet the person who will be playing at your wedding, not just the owner of the company or the sales person.
If the business is smaller, it doesn’t mean it’s worse, and my advice would be to focus on those DJs who come from a musical background – live musicians, singers, artists, DJs, music producers, sound engineers, music journalists, etc. They are the ones who are in the business because of music and they are more likely to deliver an excellent service. According to current studies, people spend only about eight percent of their wedding budget on entertainment, while the importance of their wedding’s success depends 70 percent on entertainment. Almost all the brides regret not spending more time and money on their wedding reception entertainment, while almost all the guests consider entertainment to be the most memorable part of a wedding.
All of this means that going for big name companies or simply trying to find the cheapest DJ is not a great idea and can often lead to disappointment and frustration. In the meantime, I would not recommend to judge by the price. Sometimes you can find more value for $800 than for $1500, and you should remember that the one who talks best is not necessarily the one who works best. When it comes to hiring a DJ, I would suggest that you do it in advance (as early as possible, preferably a few months before your event) and start looking in the middle price category, which is between $700 and $1000 for four hours of service. Look for professionalism, dedication, honesty, trust, talent, respect, and punctuality. Try to check their music mixes, pictures, videos, testimonials, and make sure they are honest, listen to you carefully and answer all of your questions. It’s a common practice for most DJs to charge approximately 50% of the total price when the contract is signed. This reserves the date of your event and makes them turn down other offers.

8th Annual Summer Hospitality Industry Cruise
08/09/2012, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Yesterday I got a chance to visit 8th Annual Summer Hospitality Industry Cruise, which took place on an "Inspiration" Hornblower Boat. I had a great experience meeting event planners, photographers, videographers, caterers, wedding cake bakers, florists, magicians, venue managers, and many other San Diego business owners. In my opinion, the event was organized very well: they had a DJ playing on the middle level and a live band on the upper level of the boat. The music, as well as the food and drinks were great. It was a really nice networking event and I'd love to be a part of something like this in the future.
Wedding at Manchester Grand Hyatt
07/28/2012, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Just did another beautiful wedding in the heart of San Diego Downtown at Manchester Grand Hyatt. In addition to my DJ service, I also provided LED up lights and a monogram. In my opinion, having up lights is one of the keys to a successful and unforgettable wedding. The bride and groom were one of my favorite couples ever, very easy to work with. The music selection we did together included many different kinds of music from different eras, which made most of the guests very happy and satisfied. The event was a blast!
Wedding ceremony and reception at Paradise Point in San Diego, CA
07/16/2012, DJ Charlie Walkrich: It was one of the best weddings I've ever done. I was hired to do all three parts: a ceremony, a cocktail hour, and a reception. The event was to be held from 4pm till 10pm, but they added an extra hour. I got to play everything: from the '40s to top 40 and it seems like everyone heard what they wanted. The dance floor was full all the time.

DJing at Nativity Catholic School in Rancho Santa Fe, CA
06/04/2012, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Last Friday I was playing a graduation dance at Nativity Catholic School in Rancho Santa Fe, CA (San Diego County). What actually surprised me this time is that the children, in addition to TOP 40 Dance and Hip Hop, kept requesting various old school songs: Disco, Funk, '80s Pop, and '80s Rock. They went crazy when I did "Play That Funky Music". The party turned out to be even more exiting than I expected and the job was fun all night long.
Doing a party for Baskin-Robbins in El Cajon, CA
06/02/2012, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Just did a nice party for Baskin-Robbins in El Cajon, CA (San Diego County). They requested 5 hours of playing positive and popular music outside their entrance to attract more customers. It worked! Everyone seemed to have plenty of fun and another good testimonial should be coming up soon! :)

Our new Bar Mitzvah (kids' birthday) party package
We’ve been working hard to prepare the most interesting and exciting entertainment program for children of different ages. Before I began offering my own Bar Mitzvah entertainment service, I’d done a lot of Bar Mitzvah events for other DJ companies in California, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. I was lucky to watch, analyze and compare different entertainment programs and the reaction of children, which allowed me to combine my own ideas with all the best I’ve seen. When it came to hiring an MC, I met personally and interviewed many professionals and chose the one who is talented, experienced, easy to work with, and, most importantly, in love with children.
Our Bar Mitzvah package includes me as a DJ or a Video Jockey, my full sound system (includes two professional top class speakers, two microphones, mixer, laptop & backup player), huge selection of music & music videos of all genres, incredible dance floor lighting (includes American DJ Jellyfish & American DJ Micro Galaxian Laser), and a two-hour entertainment program that is hosted by a professional MC and consists of such games as Coke & Pepsi, Scavenger hunt, The mommy, Freeze Dance and a huge selection of other games available upon request. As giveaways and main gifts, we usually give out glow stick bracelets, metallic half-masks, LED laser finger lights, temporary tattoos, movie star novelties and ladybug crystal pendant necklaces. My DJ/VJ service can be extended free of charge for up to 6 hours.
We customize every event to your needs, requests and wishes, and we always do our best to make you, your children, and all guests pleased and happy. In addition to Bar Mitzvah events, we’re available for weddings, corporate celebrations, karaoke events, school dances, holidays, anniversaries and nightclub parties of all kinds. We also offer event planning service and sound system and/or lighting rentals. Thank you for taking your time to read this information and we sincerely wish you to have all your celebrations amazingly entertaining and unforgettable!

Bar Mitzvah gig on Sunday, February 26th @ Astoria Restaurant
02/29/2012, Charlie Walkrich: Just did another Bar Mitzvah gig together with MC Evan Gordon. Having worked with many different entertainers, this MC seems to be the best. Children of different ages loved him and the way he ran all the games (especially Coke & Pepsi), as well as the presents we were giving out and the music videos I was playing on TV screens. The pictures will be posted shortly :)

|Greetings from DJ Charlie Walkrich & Da Go Disco Entertainment!
January is the slowest month in the entertainment business and I usually try to use this time for working on new marketing ideas and improving the quality of my service. While some of my professional DJ friends haven't had a single private gig during this month, I was fortunate enough to have a couple, which I'm very grateful for. Nevetheless, people continue to book spring and summer events and it looks like it's going to be even busier than last year. Some people who used to have live music at their celebrations are now trying to cut off their entertainment budgets and book DJs insted. And some of the people who used to hire expensive well-branded DJs for $2000-3000 are now trying to find the same kind of service for less than $1000.
One of my main objectives was, is, and will be to price my services according to current economic situation and my potential clients' budget, because I prefer to be always busy practicing my favourite thing and making some money, rather than having one "well-paid gig" every three months. Of couse, the equipment is expensive and it takes much time and effort to make all neccessary preparations for each event, but to me that doesn't mean that I should overcharge people.
I don't do any up-sells or additional charges. If Im booked for your event, I give you everything I have at one flat rate. As soon as we meet, discuss the details of your party and sign an agreement, I'm fully dedicated and responsible for your event. Doesn't matter how much time it would take me to get ready for your party, it's my main prority to perform well and leave good impressions. I'm always in touch with you throughout the whole process and am always ready to help with everything I can.
As it was mentioned before, I try to use my extra time for working on new marketing ideas and improving the quality of my service. During this month, I've updated my music and video database, produced new music mixes, purchased new equipment and expended my services to include karaoke entertainemt, expended the number of games, giveaways and presents I provide for Bar Mitzvahs, entirely changed and modified the photo gallery on my website, interviewed and hired new talented and dedicated industry professionals.

December 2011 Newsletter from DJ Charlie Walkrich
Happy Christmas holiday season!
My name is Charlie Walkrich and I’m a DJ serving the NYC area. My company is called Da Go Disco Entertainment and I’ve performed well hundreds of weddings and other events. I pride myself on offering the best customer service I can and since you’ve been in touch with me, you’re getting this monthly newsletter that tells you what I’ve been up to, what events I’ve played, what equipment I’ve purchased, etc.
First of all, I’ve replaced my old speakers with my new Behringers B215D Eurolive. That’s a total of 1100 watts of new-generation sound for your event. I’ve also purchased some new incredible dance floor lighting – American DJ Jellyfish and American DJ Galaxian Laser. Since early November, I’ve been busy doing private events literally every weekend. Most of them were wedding receptions and corporate celebrations. On my website you can check out the pictures & testimonials from some of them. I’ve been also constantly updating my music & video database. During the last month, I’ve produced two brand new music mixes – Christmas Mainstream Dance & Electro House Music Mix, as well as Classic Rock & Pop Rock Music Mix.
I should mention that I’m in love with many different kinds of music from different eras, and my job, in addition to income, generates me a lot of pleasure, inspiration and other positive emotions. I also like that it includes a variety of different activities and a big responsibility. If you have any questions about my services, rates, or currents promotions, feel free to give me a call any time at your convenience at (646) 926-2581. You can also respond to this email directly, or visit my website:DaGoDiscoEntertainment.com
My current promotion: get $100 cash for referring me in NYC. If someone books the event (by purchasing one of my entertainment packages) and mentions your first and last name, you get $100 cash upon the end of the party. If you’re not there, I’ll bring it to you personally.

Corporate celebration on Thursday, November 17th
11/18/2011, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Yesterday I did a very nice corporate party in Manhattan. They requested a lot of '90s Pop, Dance & Hip Hop music, so I prepared the best selection I could. The party was supposed to be from 6 pm to 8pm, but we went on till 10pm. I also included some current Dance hits, as well as some classic Disco & Rock music. Everyone seemed to have plenty of fun ;)
The wedding on Saturday, November 12th
11/13/2011, DJ Charlie Walkrich: Just did another Latin-American wedding @ St. Michael's Church in Brooklyn. Really enjoyed mixing Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia with popular American Dance music hits, as well as some Hip Hop and even Classic Disco. Worked as MC, DJ and wedding coordinator at the same time. Looking forward to doing more events of that kind :)
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
11/09/2011, DJ Charlie Walkrich: I suggest that you have a meeting with the DJ you're about to hire and discuss the flow of your event, as well as your music selection. Professional DJ should be making notes. Make sure you trust him and then sign a contract.
If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
11/07/2011, DJ Charlie Walkrich: For me it would be very important to feel trust for that person and be able to ask them all kinds of questions without feeling uncomfortable. I try to build very friendly, almost family-like relationships with my clients so our business becomes a pleasure for us. That way the best results are often achieved.
What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
11/03/2011, DJ Charlie Walkrich: I always ask many questions when I'm about to hire someone. Sometimes I have them written down on a piece of paper so I don't forget anything. The range of the events that I'm doing is so wide that it's impossible to list all those questions here. However, that basic ones would be related to my experience, the music I play, the area I serve, the price I charge, etc. I suit my services to my clients' demands and wishes and I always meet with my clients to discuss the flow of the party.
Da Go Disco Entertainment has launched its blog!
